Rights to the work

What I create for you belongs to you once it has been paid for, including source files, domains and logins. This is how I set it out in my offers:

Once an invoice has been paid in full, the work results billed in it pass to you together with all transferable copyright and rights of use, without limitation as to time, territory or content, and also for future types of use. In particular, you may publish, reproduce, distribute, make available online, modify, adapt, develop further and pass on the work to third parties. This applies to final products, drafts and working files (e.g. design and layout files, source code, texts, images), including where they are not protected by copyright; on request, I will hand them over to you in common formats. Until payment, you may use the work for the agreed purpose.

Building blocks that I developed independently of your assignment or use repeatedly (e.g. code libraries, templates, components) remain with me. You receive a perpetual, free-of-charge and transferable right to use and modify them as part of the work.

Where possible, I obtain third-party licences (e.g. fonts, images, plugins, software, hosting) in your name; otherwise I pass them on to you on the provider’s terms. If a licence is not transferable, I will tell you before it is purchased. Open-source components are subject to their own licences.

I set up domains, accounts and logins (e.g. hosting, Webflow, Google Ads, Analytics, social media) in your name. You receive full administrator rights and can revoke my access at any time. If a service runs through my account, I will transfer it to you on request at any time, free of charge; I pass on third-party fees at cost, without mark-up. Any additional work you request in the process, such as moving to another provider, is charged based on time spent.

You may use the work without naming me. Moral rights that cannot be waived remain reserved.

I may show published work as a reference (e.g. on my website, in presentations) and name you or your business, as long as you do not object. I will only show confidential material, such as login details, campaign figures or internal documents, with your consent.
